I've known about this place for a really long time but only came here for the first time while my brother was visiting me. He and his partner really liked the place so they went twice and I came along on the second visit. Cozy place, nice atmosphere, and the owner is super friendly. It's definitely a neighborhood spot. I wanted lox but he was out of it so I actually didn't get to try his bagels. Perhaps that was a good thing since my bagel standards are pretty high thanks to Murray's. Instead I had the chicken salad on rye and that was lovely.

A quick breakfast along with some tea and you are set to start your day right. Friendly staff.

Let me start with saying that I don't often come back to one place when I travel, cause I love to explore. Even if I come back, I do that once and that's it. After going to Juju's for the first time (I found it on yelp), I kept coming back every morning for 6 days straight, until the day I left NYC. Delicious iced coffee, amazing food for a really decent price. Pancakes, bagels, bagel sandwiches, cookies, omelettes. Just wow! Very fresh and tasty. And the menu has so much more to offer... The service is even more of a pleasure to write about. The owner makes you feel really welcome, is genuinely friendly, and you can clearly see that the thoughts posted around the place about being kind are there for a reason. He is so kind! Most of the customers are locals, after a couple of days I started recognizing faces. It seemed like a second home to some people and I can see why! Even if you're an outsider though, the owner notices and makes sure you feel at home. I had a couple of nice conversations with him as well as with some of the locals. You don't see so many people in the general area of "service" that care and remember you. I was shocked that a minor thing I mentioned to the owner while paying on day 1, he brought up in a conversation two days later - he cares and remembers! The place is small, happens to be crowded, is cash-only and has no restroom. So what? Get over it and go there for a breakfast and coffee and you'll love it! I loved it, and if I'm ever in NYC again, despite of the area I end up in, I will make sure to pay Juju's a visit. It's definitely worth it!

Still the best breakfast spot in Jackson heights. Awesome bagels, cream cheeses, cookies, muffins and coffee. It's also so nice to see an establishment that's family run. Great service! Not to be missed.

A wonderful place for brunch. We come here almost every week. The owner is very personable and clearly loves what he does. He seems to know every customer by name. Its the type of neighborhood place which you imagined existed all over New York City before generic chains and cookie cutter spots manned by minimum wage workers took over. The prices are very reasonable too. Most importantly, the food is excellent, most of it with a caring, homemade feel to it. Favorites are the cream of aspargus soup, the egg salad and the salads which are fresh and light and tasty. His homemade semolina cake is simply wonderful. To those who are miffed at it not taking credit cards so you can run up those travel miles (hope you do realize that they do result in higher prices across the board. Those credit card executives do not work for free), just deal with it. You want a unique neighborhood place with homemade food, low prices and an owner who will greet you like family, carry around a few bucks with you. If not, then Starbucks is a few blocks away.

Always a pleasure coming here. Sammy the owner is a delight and is the reason I always come back. The bagels are extremely fresh and are consistently great every time. I've also tried their croissant french toast and am happy to say I've ordered that about 3 times already!!!

How can a bagel store be closed at 9am?

I am so glad I ran across this place one random morning. The people who work here are so sweet, and their bagels are amazing. They have great coffee and a handful of delicious spreads. Multigrain everything bagel was def a great choice for savory. Paired it with a spread with some veggies in it, and it was toasted perfectly with the right amount of spread. BUT the French toast bagel with raisin and walnut spread was the winner IMO. I normally opt for savory bagels, but this one stole my heart. I honestly could see this place becoming one of those crazy line out the door kind of places just for this bagel alone. They serve Illy coffee, and other great baked goods like multigrain croissants! Street parking available (metered), a few tables and chairs as well. They have great looking salads and sandwiches with other lunch entree menu items.

Nothing less than spectacular! We were new to the neighborhood, and Sami made us feel at home from the time we stepped into his door. The food is excellent and prepared personally with care and, for sure, with love. Thank you, Sami. Chica and Joey

People coming to New York often imagine neighborhood regulars and places where the owner of a shop greets you by name. Jackson Heights actually is like this. Sam, the owner of Juju's, remembers his customers and treats you with the care that he genuinely feels. He's a kind man. The bagels are good. What's best about Juju's though are the things you put on the bagel. Many kinds of tuna, of hummus, cream cheeses, all made freshly. Everything is clean. It's a good place.

So-so cash only spot in JH. Think of this as more of a deli with pre-bought bagels than a bakery. They have a decent amount of different savory and sweet cream cheeses (I think I even saw whitefish salad). Sandwiches and pancakes and soups can also be had, but it's a rotating menu. Coffee here is extremely yum. They do iced particularly well. Espresso here is much better than most places in the area. When on the run and in need of something that isn't Starbucks/DD/or the even worse Espresso 77, I like to duck in here. Very, very limited seating and extremely crowded on weekend mornings. Better off to grab and go rather than linger, enjoy!

My companion and I went here for breakfast two mornings in a row while visiting the area. The overall setup of this place was such that I really loved the place. I loved it too much that I would definitely come back here again when I visit for the next time in the future. So, what is there to like? Well, the croissants are amazing, not too flaky, and very delicious. The omelettes are very tasty. The coffee is great. And more importantly, the guy who wears a beret and stands behind the counter is very friendly and makes you feel welcome. He knows who is his regular customers (hence, he spotted that we were new) and makes the newbies love the place as quick as he can. Seriously, folks, I wish I were living in this area. Maybe, I've been living in Germany too long that I have been desensitized to typical human friendliness (as Germans tend to be cold in public), but seriously, I love this place, not only for the good food and coffee, but also for the general niceness of the people running this place.

Delicious bagel, fresh coffee, and a wonderfully friendly storekeeper made this a great pit stop off the airport while I oriented myself for the rest of Queens.

Are you in a rush for your coffee and bagel while you talk on your phone and run late for work? Perhaps this is not the place for you. However, if you have a little more wiggle room, Juju is one of the gems of the JH neighborhood. The coffee is always fresh, the hommus is even fresher, and owner Sammy is always looking out for his clients, most of which end up being regulars.

Cute place! The espresso and cookies are good. Caution: no bathroom.

  • Seth A.

Illy coffee, canned decor, terrible radio station music. Really nice proprietor, not bad bagels (though only get yours toasted lightly--mine's burnt) with a nice variety of cream cheeses. I'll most likely stick with Esresso 77 for better coffee, though they are disappointingly slow and overpriced (see my review). Still working out the cafe situation here in JH...

  • C O.

Food: check, I got the ham, egg and cheese on a croissant. 5/5 perfect. Croissant was flaky, soft and not greesy. Ham was cut thick. Eggs fluffy. Cheese generously portioned. Drink: got a cappuccino and it was great. Smooth, fresh, flavorful and not too strong. Atmosphere: Most reviews will mention how friendly the owner is and the sense of warmth you get as you step in the door. They aren't lieing or exagerating. If you're having a bad day, come here, get a coffee and a snack and this place will take your mind off it.

-1 Star for not having a "Cash Only" sign at the door. You'll find out after you order and walk up to the register, which will have a tiny note on it that reads "Sorry, no credit cards." Debit cards won't work either. -1 Star for making me run to an ATM t

  • Rachael F.

Awesome bagels and prices! 2 bacon egg & cheese on everything bagels + 1 everything with cream cheese and lox + 3 coffees came to $20. It was such a good find. Everything was fresh and delicious. They had so many options for salads, sandwiches, paninis, omelettes, and breakfast specials - there is something for everyone on the menu! The guy working the cash register (most likely the owner) was so kind and welcoming. A neighborhood gem for sure!

  • Michael M.

Juju's is one of my favorite places in Jackson Heights. The atmosphere is pleasant and inviting; the food, delicious and affordable. The bagels and various cream cheeses here are terrific. And you can't go wrong with their wraps, omelets or paninis. Service here is A+++. Sami is a wonderful host -- as friendly and warm as can be. Check this place out if you are in the neighborhood; you won't be disappointed.

So I've passed by this place a dozen of times and finally decided to stop by. The place itself is very small with 5-6 small tables that are basically on top of each other and three top bar tables. The owner was so nice but if he called me "sweetie" one more time I thought I was going to bug out. By the time I finished my meal all the elders in the neighborhood were coming so I was basically forced out, no biggie I was just about done anyway. I ordered an iced coffee which was one of the better coffees in the neighborhood which I highly recommend. I also got a bagel with cream cheese and Lox. Nothing special just a bagel with lox that you can get across the street at K&L for a dollar cheaper. I would go back and recommend going there for a fast breakfast or brunch.

Best lunch in Jackson Heights! Everything here is made from scratch, so the food takes a little longer to come out but it's always worth it. There's an extensive menu, and everything is good, with fresh ingredients and generous portions. You can eat light with salads and soups, but there are lots of heartier dishes if you're looking for something more substantial, including specials like pan-seared salmon with pineapple salsa and vegetables. The homemade hummus is amazing, a world of difference from the Sabra and Tribe stuff in tubs that most cafés use. The prices are very reasonable given the quality of the food. The owner Samy is so nice and hospitable, and never rushes anyone out even when it gets busy. Truly a neighborhood spot.

We come upon this place when we walk home and wonder how cute it would be since the sign said "ju ju". It means "lil piggy" in Chinese, and usually is a nickname between lovers. We are glad we did take a tea break at this place. The decor has a bit of European taste with these cute lil autumn tables. The bagels taste wonderful as well crispy on the outside and soft inside, cream cheese are not sticky, but smooth and buttery. It is hard to find such gem when most of the food business is just going too commercial. So don't miss it, try it, you won't regret it.

Nice local bagel place. Fair prices, good service and the bagels arr exceptional. Definitely a better alternative to Dunkin Donuts. Only downside is they do not except cards. Cash only.

When you think New York you think bagels, at least I do. What better place to get bagels then your neighborhood bagel shop? Well for me, in historic Jackson Heights a place as such exists and that's JuJu bagels. I'm not a regular but I have been many times since moving here a little over a month ago. Breakfast to me is the most important meal so I usually like to make my own eggs/oatmeal/cereal in the mornings all while saving some cha ching. But, when I feel the urge to tear into a everything bagel with scallion cream cheese, JuJu is my spot. So damn good, yum. My girlfriend who is native to JH and a JuJu bagel fan alerted me of this spot, she's been hitting it up for years getting her plain bagel with lox spread followed by a illy coffee. The last time I went in there I was helped directly by the owner Sammy, a real nice guy and you can tell that he cares for his customers and knows many on a first name basis which is important esp. in New York City where it seems that things like that don't exist anymore. I actually can't wait to go back and try there muffins, I love muffins!

Small, hidden behind the crappy Global Supermarket so that you might miss it....and VERY VERY VERY GOOD. I was an idiot, and thought, oh there can't be any great bagel places on my block, but JuJu's proved me wrong. The bagels are tasty, towards the chewy side but just crispy enough; had the everything with cream cheese and was not disappointed. Excellent coffee. And all this with good service, cozy decor, and a quality 80s heavy playlist on the stereo. Will be going back again.

I had a great experience here. Found this place on Yelp after dropping someone off at Laguarda Airport. Very unique small shop but damn are the bagels delicious. The eggs, cheese and meat was very fresh. The cream cheese and fresh lox was a lot better than I've tried in a very long time. I don't know how they make so many bagels in a shop like that but they definitely make it work! I highly recommend visiting Juju Bagels next time you're around Laguardia ( less than 10 minutes away)

My office was closed today due to the snow and decided to stop by Juju's to give them another shot only to find out that they were closed. I stopped by Espresso 77 that was open and had an enjoyable cup of coffee. Sorry Juju's but Espresso 77 has a regular customer now.

This little bagel shop makes you feel at home! The man behind the counter was very nice and the bagel and coffee were the best I've had in a while! I most definitely come back! Bravo! Well done!

I had forgotten to make breakfast one morning, was still quite sleepy, and decided to pop in for a bagel. Josh Groban was serenading through the speakers. The owner Sam wished me a good morning and I quickly ordered a toasted sesame bagel with salmon cream cheese. I was tempted with the hummus, though. The bagel was delicious, and I instantly woke up!! Definitely coming back next time I conveniently "forget" to pack breakfast.

GET BAGEL OUT OF THE NAME. Didn't eat here; simply drove 20 minutes to find out it is a pure cafe, not a bagel place. Sure they have bagels, but it doesn't look like they are made on site, and no "dozen" type servings. Looks great for bagel sandwiches and other items, but not at all a place to get a bag of them.. BTW, cash only.

  • Aram B.

Jujus has been our go to place since it opened. I think it has the best coffee in the area. And we love their croissant egg and cheese sandwich. It's the first place I go to when I'm away from the city for more than a week at a time.

  • Carly T.

I am so very hung over and this sesame with scallion cheese and fresh lox is amazing. The coffee is surprisingly good and the prices are great. Bagel is a delightful chewy. I can't speak to the rest of the food options, but the bagels are bagel snob approved.

  • Elizabeth F.

They're super nice. Not the greatest bagel I've ever had, but I was spoiled by living near 3 different Brooklyn Bagels at my last place. My boyfriend and I like to come in on weekend mornings, get some bagels, and peruse the weird books they have next to the window. Great place and really nice staff. They always round up my change (like if I give them a 10 dollar bill for a 5.25 charge, they just give me a 5 dollar bill back). The decor is fun and it's just a really nice little neighborhood spot.

  • Melina B.

My husband and I love this place. It's a nice neighborhood hand out with really good food and great service. The owner is very nice and tries very hard to please customers. My husband and I are very satisfied customers :)

JuJu is a nice cozy place. The owner & staff is super awesome and the bagels are yummy & tasty. I love their egg & cheese bagels too. This place will not disappoint anyone because you would be hooked to JuJu's if you lived around jackson heights and you are sick of nasty/tasteless dunkin donuts bagels for breakfast. I love the decor of JuJu's during the holidays and you will probably hear Andrea Bocelli/Opera music playing in the background which makes this place relaxing. I've would give JuJu's 5 stars but it's a small place - you may or may not get a place to sit. Too bad yelp doesn't give 4 1/2 stars. Overall just writing about this place is making me want a bagel tomorrow morning! LOL

  • Jeff O.

There's a contingent of people who aren't in the Espresso 77 crowd. They come here. I do too because the owners are nice and they care about what they put on the plate. Reminds me of Malu in LIC because they are both named after their children, and are put together by families that are trying hard.

This is one of my favorite places in Jackson Heights. My wife and I go there every weekend for coffee with you infant. If you are looking for great food, a friendly place with excellent customer service look no further than JuJu. My daughter Kaya Hannah loves going there.

I just noticed that I haven't Yelped for quite a while, but will do so for Juju's Bagel Cafe. It's so nice to have family owned businesses opening in the neighborhood, and Juju's is one definitely worth a visit. From their large variety of fresh bagels, including the sundried tomato, blueberry, multi-grain and unique French toast bagel, all are nicely textured and are fabulous accompanied by equally delicious assorted cream cheeses. The lunch and dinner specials are also surprisingly good for a small bagel cafe. Yay! I now have a go to place in the 'hood for Falafel served with homemade hummus! Also, hubby and I recently enjoyed the skirt steak special served with mashed sweet potatoes and grilled asparagus, and earlier tonight tried the roasted chicken, also served with cubed sweet potatoes and grilled zucchini. How wonderful to have tasty options at such affordable prices! Last, but not least are Juju's deserts. All are made on the premises and are uniquely flavored, but not overly sweet. Huge plus!! The chocolate mocha cake is YUM!!! Great food, friendly and accommodating service at good prices. What's not to love? Go!

I had a few minutes to spare this morning and stopped by for an everything bagel with lox spread. I also got a big latte and a chocolate chip cookie (because the cookies looked great!). The woman working behind the counter was really nice and the latte was the best I've had in the neighborhood and for only $3.50! They use ILLY espresso which made me happy. The bagel was fantastic, crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside. The lox spread was loaded with pieces of lox in the cream cheese. Definitely one of the better and more generous lox spreads I have had. I was told that they have specials on the weekend and last weekend's was falafel. I am hoping they do more Middle Eastern food if people like it because it'd be fantastic to have a bagel/Arab restaurant :)

Amazing neighborhood shop in Jackson Heights. The owner was so nice and even brought our food out to us. Everything bagel with cream cheese and lox was out of this world. Perfect place to introduce my cousin to a proper ny bagel.

A fantastic little neighborhood place. The owner is very friendly and does everything by himself (be prepared to wait a little while). He seems to know every other customer by name! I had a sesame bagel with scallion cream cheese, which was super fresh and DIVINE. I also had a latte with cinnamon in it, which was amazingly rich and delicious. I will absolutely come back the next time I'm in New York!

  • Sarah R.

Juju's is great! I swing by sometimes on my way out to work for a breakfast sandwich and coffee. Their egg and cheese on a croissant can't be beat. Their bagels are always great, too- good cream cheese flavors and the bagels are always just the right texture and size. The owner is very friendly- I don't come here enough to be a regular, but I get the feeling that many people do and he knows them by name. I've been meaning to come here in the afternoon for dessert- their case of tarts and cakes looks delicious! The menu is more simple than Espresso 77, but I don't mind- you know that everything is homemade, and, in my opinion, tastier. If you haven't gone to Juju's yet, check it out! [Note: Cash only]

If you're in the Jackson Heights area you have to stop by Juju's!! This quaint, little cafe makes you feel like you're in the downtown Manhattan area. It blows my mind how I feel like I'm completely in another place when I walk in. A great plus for me! The owner is the sweetest and a very talented Chef. His wife and the staff; always aiming to please and go above and beyond. I'm sorry but they blow away any competition in the area! You have to try their bagels with an array of different spreads to choose from. My favorites are the cranberry cream cheese, egg salad, chicken salad, and the to die for low fat tuna salad with apples and cranberries!!! My mouth is watering just typing this review! You also have to try the Hummus, hamburger, and eggplant rollatini! Trust me, you'll find your favorites too. There's so much to choose from witch is a welcomed surprise and ensures you won't ever get bored going in. I have to add that most of the menu is served with a spectacular side salad which often includes fresh fruits and a fantastic 'secret dressing' that I hope the owner starts selling soon! The service isn't always 'fast food' fast but if you want the best and you want it fresh, it's worth waiting an extra few minutes. The prices are beyond affordable and when you're served, the presentations are what you would expect from only high end eateries. They made a regular out of me, my family and some of my friends. Just go in and try it. You'll thank yourself for finding this gem in Jackson Heights too.

This place has a friendly, inviting atmosphere and the lunches I've had were extremely fresh and tasty. When I order a salad with grilled chicken, I'm pretty sure the chicken is grilled on the spot before being placed on top of a freshly tossed salad. The dressing is homemade too. Highly recommend!

Pluses: Their bagels are really good......Crispy on outside, chewy in middle, right size. Their wholewheat croissant is SPECTACULAR. Minuses: As was mentioned before, they are really friendly, but their service is kind of slow. Don't come here in a rush for your morning bagel... do come here if you want delicious bagelry. .

Their bagels are delicious and the friendly guy behind the counter threw in an extra French toast bagel for free when I bought a half dozen others! Great neighborhood bagel shop.

  • John T.

I've really warmed to this place. I'm now currently won-over completely after a few bumpy service experiences early on. Others here are spot-on in their assessment that main man Sam is dedicated to hospitality and good vibes. As a Jackson Heights-ite, it's wonderful to have a spot that offers high quality, value and reliable freshness. The bagels and spreads are solid. The muffins are excellent. They're tall and skinny. Buttery. Wrapped in paper. All the offerings are on clear display which makes the process of making a choice fun. Music through the sound system is lively. The soups I've tried are excellent. I don't sit in, but the set-up is such you could get comfortable with a cup of coffee and a newspaper. The devotion by Sam to take an interest in each customer seems to be taking hold such that the business appears to be on solid footing in a neighborhood that's always needed a good bagel shop.

  • Daniel C.

Not really my kind of bagel. The hole is too big, a dead give-away for machine-made. The bagels need to rise more, allowing for a harder crusty outside with a more airy and softer inside. Not accusing them of machine made breads, but these fall far short of the mark. What can I say, this is Queens. The "best" Manhattan shops often fall short of the mark as well. I can't believe I miss Brooklyn. Also, they're called "Juju's". That's like calling a pizzeria "Shlomo's" or a srtip bar "Mama's." Just sayin'. Also, please take that fugly maroon tapestry incense curtain thing down from the window. I'm going for my breakfast, not to have my fortune told.

  • Nathaly S.

I really love this place- very homey and comforting. The bagels are quite delicious and they have a large sample of in-house cream cheese to choose from. They also make their own cakes/desserts and they are delicious (the chocolate croissant bread pudding and lemon ricotta cake are two of my go-tos). The one down side is that it takes FOREVER to get anything (so prepared to wait a while). If I'm in a rush, I won't even bother but if you have time to spare, defnitely stop by here.

    (4)
  • Jesse H.

These guys are so nice, and go out of their way for the customers. The food is a great value, you get a lot of delicious for a few bucks. It's not fancy, but it's made with love. Or at least served with love, since the bagels aren't made in-house. But whatever. It's a fantastic neighborhood place and I'm hoping they last forever!!

I recently visited this place. I have to say, I really enjoyed it! I used to live in the neighborhood. I found out they opened in February, the same time I left :-( This cafe is very cute and cozy! The selection of food is great! I wasn't expecting hummus on a pita to be served here but there I was, eating away! We were looking for something to eat but wanted something light. This place hit the spot. They have lots of lunch and breakfast items to choose from. The inside was decorated with Halloween stuff. Wish I could come everyday. The lady was very nice. I like to help locally owned establishments. Whenever I visit JH, I'll make sure to stop by!

What a great addition to Jackson Heights! The blueberry bagel is top notch topped with the cranberry cream cheese. Sam, the owner, makes the desserts himself. Top it off with a steamy cup of coffee, what a great way to start the day!

I spend a lot of time in Juju's--it's an ideal spot to sit for a while and watch the neighborhood flow in and out. Sami and the rest of the staff are welcoming and know all the regulars by name. I'm one of the few people to sit with a laptop, unlike the hordes at Starbucks. (There is wifi--you just have to ask for the code.) The bagels are really good, not too dense and not too fluffy. Sami makes a mean egg sandwich. And their lunch specials are really fresh and tasty and reasonably priced. I like E77 too, but this place is more my speed. Even when it's busy, it doesn't feel overly full, though it's a cozy space. And the customers often end up chatting, which I like--feels very neighborhoody.

After being a resident of JH for a number of years, I have decided to pay more attention to local haunts. And, admittedly, I was happy to have had my virginal experience at this cozy, albeit "interestingly decorated," bagel joint. While the "everything" bagel was certainly decent, the prices are even more attractive, making it an affordable option for those lazy late mornings. Overall, it is a welcome addition to the neighborhood in need of more tiny gems.

This is one of my favorite places in Jackson Heights. My wife and I go there every weekend for coffee with you infant. If you are looking for great food, a friendly place with excellent customer service look no further than JuJu. My daughter Kaya Hannah loves going there.

There's a contingent of people who aren't in the Espresso 77 crowd. They come here. I do too because the owners are nice and they care about what they put on the plate. Reminds me of Malu in LIC because they are both named after their children, and are put together by families that are trying hard.

Nothing less than spectacular! We were new to the neighborhood, and Sami made us feel at home from the time we stepped into his door. The food is excellent and prepared personally with care and, for sure, with love. Thank you, Sami. Chica and Joey

  • Roberto R.

Jujus has been our go to place since it opened. I think it has the best coffee in the area. And we love their croissant egg and cheese sandwich. It's the first place I go to when I'm away from the city for more than a week at a time.

I am so very hung over and this sesame with scallion cheese and fresh lox is amazing. The coffee is surprisingly good and the prices are great. Bagel is a delightful chewy. I can't speak to the rest of the food options, but the bagels are bagel snob approved.

LOL

The one down side is that it takes FOREVER to get anything (so prepared to wait a while). If I'm in a rush, I won't even bother but if you have time to spare, defnitely stop by here.

This is one of my favorite places in Jackson Heights. My wife and I go there every weekend for coffee with you infant. If you are looking for great food, a friendly place with excellent customer service look no further than JuJu. My daughter Kaya Hannah loves going there.

I had high expectations for this place bc of all the great reviews. I love bagels but i was not impressed with theirs. I will continue to travel the extra distance to Bagels Plus on 58th.

Good bagels in comparison to other places in the neighborhood. Owner is moody. The cream cheese is disgusting. I only go here because there are no better options.

There's a contingent of people who aren't in the Espresso 77 crowd. They come here. I do too because the owners are nice and they care about what they put on the plate. Reminds me of Malu in LIC because they are both named after their children, and are put together by families that are trying hard.

Still the best breakfast spot in Jackson heights. Awesome bagels, cream cheeses, cookies, muffins and coffee. It's also so nice to see an establishment that's family run. Great service! Not to be missed.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
